  Needed emergency vet for very ill old cat. All contact with central call centre were lovely. Cue the harsh, abruptness and seemingly disinterested foreign vet. She was curt, and her manner was not one me and my young son needed for this terrible time.
  She was matter of fact, which me and my son found awful. She couldn't find a vein so my lovely little 19 year old little cat struggled and had to be held down whilst shaved and injected twice to be euthanized. Horrible.
  The other staff were lovely and kind.
  I've seen this type of manner in all the foreign vets I've seen over the years. I just don't think different cultures are as sentimental over pets as British are.
  I don't want to hear in a puzzled, jaunty voice "now" when my Autistic son asked the vet when our cat will be put to sleep. I think a lot of emotion is lost in translation. Empathy for one.
